Switch-o-Change-o: Fantasy Running Backs Moving Teams
August 4th, 2010There are a good amount of fantasy running backs this season who have a change of scenery. A lot of these guys were once high profile fantasy backs, and now they are being taken late in many ’10 drafts because of their age and uncertainty.
Looking for a live draft? Try a high stakes league.
July 27th, 2010Sure the internet makes it possible for you take part in hundreds of online drafts, but does that really compare to a LIVE fantasy football draft? No way, not even close.
If you aren’t lucky enough to have a group of friends willing to gather for a night of drafting and debauchery, well then, maybe it’s time to get new friends. Fantasy Lifespan of Wide Receivers
June 30th, 2010A few years ago (2007 to be exact) I created a spreadsheet which tracked the lifespan of running backs. Nearly every RB tracked showed a dramatic spike in TD production at the early-mid point of their career, followed by a massive drop off two years later. The good news is I traded away L.T. at the height of his value. The bad news is the data was lost during a tragic computer crash.
Stay Away from Big Ten Running Backs
June 10th, 2010Disclaimer: This article was written and edited prior the recent ’10 expansion of the Big-10.
Many years ago I formed a fantasy football hypothesis that Big Ten running backs make terrible fantasy backs. I have stuck by this theory through my career as a fantasy owner, and for the most part it has paid off.
I’ve managed to steer clear of some big time busts, and use my draft picks for better long term investments.
Now of course this doesn’t come without exceptions. Marion Barber has been a fairly solid back most of his career. Fellow University of Minnesota alter mata Michael Bennett even had a few decent years — that is when he wasn’t nursing was of his several torn hamstrings. A lot of Big Ten backs have been excellent NFL players (see: Mike Alstott), however there is a big difference between being a good NFL back and
